An exciting foil treatment for budding card collectors.

With every Magic: The Gathering release, it feels like there’s a brand new card treatment which can hamper your decision when purchasing cards. In some cases, Magic players may want to pick up the most striking foil treatments for their Commander or constructed deck they love most. Market Price: $101.92

Releasing as part of Magic: The Gathering’s collaboration with Warhammer 40,000 and The Lord of the Rings, Surge Foil is a unique kind of foiling that to appears in products such as the Warhammer 40,000 Commander Precons: Collector’s Edition or in Tales of Middle-earth Collector Boosters.

As you can see by the tweet from Wizards of the Coast, the foiling treatment looks entirely different from what currently exists on Magic: The Gathering cards. From the visual provided, Surge Foils feature an almost ripple-style foiling effect, making them eye-catching from the get-go. In addition, you can acquire these  cards from the Collector’s Edition of the Warhammer 40,000 Commander Precons, where these do not exist in the Warhammer 40,000 base Commander Precons. Since the release is attentive to Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000, each card in these Commander products feature art from the Warhammer 40,000 multiverse — even cards reprinted for this release such as Sol Ring.
