In for a faerie good time.
Want to know everything about MTG’s upcoming Lorwyn Eclipsed set, but don’t know where to start? Well, that’s probably not true, because you’ve clicked on this article, and you know TCGplayer has you covered when it comes to information on upcoming sets, which is good, because we’re getting so many of them in 2026. Let’s keep things calm and just start with this one for now.
Everything We Know About MTG’s Lorwyn Eclipsed

Market Price: $19.58

Market Price: $37.84

Market Price: $40.30
While we’re still a little whole out from the release of the next in-universe Magic: The Gathering set, we already know a surprisingly large amount about Lorwyn Eclipsed. So, we’ve collected everything there is to know about it here for you.
Lorwyn Eclipsed Key Dates and Events
- Previews Begin: January 5, 2026
- Complete Card Gallery: January 12, 2026
- Prerelease Events: January 16–22, 2026
- Global Release: January 23, 2026
- Lorwyn Eclipsed Set Code: ECL
- Lorwyn Eclipsed: Commander Set Code: ECC
- Special Guests Set Code: SPG
Lorwyn Eclipsed will fully release on January 23 2026, and will be the first of seven Standard-legal sets in that year. This means that all of the cards will be legal in basically every format, and it’ll stick around in Standard for three years, but given the implied focus on elementals and transformations, we’d assume that Commander players will be enjoying the vibes for a few years to come.
The set will be the first in-universe Magic release since Edge of Eternities, and follows both Marvel’s Spider-Man and the Avatar: The Last Airbender, so it should be a nice return for a lot of players. We’re expecting to see a lot of older cards and characters referenced along with some big story moments. If you haven’t read the Lorwyn Eclipsed story, you can do so over on DailyMTG.
Lorwyn Eclipsed Mechanics

Market Price: $14.85

Market Price: $21.88

Market Price: $14.89
While we’re still waiting for full details on what mechanics to expect, we’ve already seen a few really notable cards. We’re getting a lot of token generation in this set by the looks of things, including special tokens, with Mutable Explorer being a creature that creates a Mutavault land token.
We’re also getting a bunch of transforming cards to represent the shift between day and night on the plane. These have all been legendary creatures so far, and should make for some really entertaining Commander decks, allowing players to build around one or both sides as they want to. Along with that, cards like Emptiness and Deceit also show off not only the return of hybrid mana, but also cards that care about the specific colors of mana you’ve used to cast them, allowing for different effects depending on what you’ve used.
We’re also seeing cards you can spend mana on to upgrade, like Figure of Fable. This card lets you spend more and more mana on it to make it stronger and change not only its creature type, but also its base stats, and even give it some powerful keywords. Hopefully we’ll be getting a few of these in Lorwyn Eclipsed.

Market Price: $102.38
We’ll be getting the standard array of products for Lorwyn Eclipsed. That means Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, Prerelease Packs, and Bundles will be available upon release. It’s worth noting that the foil promo in the Prerelease Packs will no longer have a date stamp on it, which is a shame for people who like to collect them. We are getting the return of Commander Precon Decks though, with the black, red, and green Blight Curse Deck, and the five-color Dance of the Elements Deck. As for the MSRP for Lorwyn Eclipsed, it is as follows:
- Play Booster: $5.49
- Collector Booster: $26.99
- Commander Deck: $49.99
- Bundle: $57.99
- Draft Night: $89.99
- Theme Deck: $23.99
If that wasn’t enough, we’re getting some 60-card Theme Decks that are aimed at allowing players to hit the ground running in Standard, and can be played against each other for a decent play experience. We don’t know the decklists for these quite yet, but it’ll be interesting to see how competitive they actually are, and we might look at helping you upgrade them to make them stronger in Standard, or maybe even turn them into Modern or Pioneer decks.
Finally, there’s also the Draft Night Box, which is a new kind of product that comes with 12 Play Boosters, 1 Collector Booster, 90 Basic Lands, 10 double-sided tokens, and a draft insert. It’s designed to be played as a Pick-Two Draft, which could be a fun way to get something going a little more easily for some people.
Lorwyn Eclipsed Card Treatments

Market Price: $59.15

Market Price: $49.99

Market Price: $23.35
As ever, we’re getting a fair few art treatments with Lorwyn Eclipsed. One of the chase cards is sure to be the serialized borderless Bitterbloom Bearer, which has art from the wonderful Rebecca Guay on it, along with having the double rainbow foil treatment. This’ll look stunning in person, and is highly likely to be the card that collectors will be hoping to open. This will only be in Collector Boosters though.

Market Price: $26.14

Market Price: $26.33

Market Price: $20.97

Market Price: $22.61

Market Price: $23.53
We’re getting the return of the Shock Lands with Lorwyn Eclipsed, and also getting a special treatment for them. You can pick up borderless reversible versions of Hallowed Fountain, Steam Vents, Blood Crypt, Overgrown Tomb, and Temple Garden. These have Lorwyn artwork on one side, and Shadowmoor artwork on the other. It’s a really nice concept, and we’re looking forward to seeing them in person.
Ashling’s Command
Lorwyn Eclipsed, Rare

There’s also the Fable Frame treatment, which puts many cards in the set into a classic fairy tale style. These are cute, and there will be ten uncommons, 26 rares, and 14 mythic rares available in this treatment. The only one we’ve seen so far is Mutable Explorer, Morningtide’s Light, Bitterbloom Bearer, and Ashling’s Command, but we’re hoping to see a few more friendly faces on these during previews.
