How to Upgrade All Two Lorwyn Eclipsed MTG Commander Precon Decks

Get ready to wander through the wonder that is Lorwyn with our upgrade guides!

Lorwyn Eclipsed is the first Magic: The Gathering release of the year, which brings with it a new wave of Commander Precon Decks to collect. It’s nice to be getting back into the seat of it all after Marvel’s Spider-Man and Avatar: The Last Airbender, with the two decks playing pretty well out of the box. Not to mention, there are several solid reprints and new cards that make them both worthwhile purchases if you’re looking to dive into the casual format.

How to Upgrade All Two Lorwyn Eclipsed Commander Decks

While both decks incorporate themes we’ve seen before, they’re different enough to have us enjoying the brewing process, and the two options available are quite inspiring for deckbuilding. We think they pair quite well out of the box against each other, but if you want to pick one of these Commander Decks and really go all in, then you’ll want to keep on reading.

Dance of the Elements MTG Commander Precon Deck

Ashling, the Limitless (Borderless)

Mass of Mysteries (Borderless)

Dance of the Elements is the five-color Elemental typal deck, and it’s the most familiar-feeling one out of the two. We’ve had access to a few five-color Elemental Commanders before, but this one has more of a focus on the evoke ability compared to previous iterations. Evoke was introduced back in the original Lorwyn block, so it makes sense to see it return with the release of Lorwyn Eclipsed. Ashling, the Limitless is the face Commander for this deck, granting your Elemental permanent spells with evoke and creating a token of any Elementals you sacrifice, which you can then pay mana to keep around. Ashling feeds into herself really well, but can go really wild if you want to add more recursion coupled with sacrifice themes.ARTICLE SPOTLIGHTDance of the Elements MTG Commander Precon Deck Upgrade GuideSparks fly when you’re evoking Elementals!

Mass of Mysteries is the other option, and comes with some excellent keywords that can grant another Elemental you control with myriad during your combat step. This one feels broader, which makes it easier to build in Commander, but also works exceptionally well alongside the new iteration of Ashling. You’ll reap a ton of value from various enter the battlefield triggers thanks to myriad too, so it’s worth grabbing a few Panharmonicon-like effects to include here.

Blight Curse MTG Commander Precon Deck

Auntie Ool, Cursewretch (Borderless)
Lorwyn Eclipsed Commander Deck - Blight Curse

Market Price: $40.55

The Reaper, King No More (Borderless)

Blight Curse is the black, red, and green (which is often called Jund in Magic) option in Lorwyn Eclipsed. While we’ve had a Commander Deck in the same colors for Edge of Eternities focusing on sacrificing lands for value, this one is all about -1/-1 counters. Blight Curse is the more mechanically interesting of the two decks in our opinion, and it’s headed up by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch. Auntie Ool draws you cards for putting -1/-1 counters on any of your creatures, or drains opponents if you do it to theirs. It’s an effective way of removing players and threatening both their board states and life totals in one fell swoop.ARTICLE SPOTLIGHTBlight Curse MTG Commander Precon Deck Upgrade GuideMore blighting! More cursing!Tyler Berger1/19/2026

The other choice here sees the return of The Reaper, King No More. While no longer a five-color creature, this version of the Reaper places a -1/-1 counter on up to two creatures as it enters, and if an opponent’s creature dies with a -1/-1 counter on it, you can put that creature onto the battlefield under your control. While you can only trigger the second ability once each turn, but this is a delightful strategy in itself. This one feels more like you should be playing it as a -1/-1-themed Control deck, and upsetting everyone by stealing their favorite cards as the game progresses.
