he gold shell of MTG
The most expensive Magic: The Gathering | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cards show off a wealth of different characters and art styles. There are plenty of fantastic foils to aim for, and if you can pull any of them you’re likely looking at a decent payoff. It helps that the set is also a lot of fun to play with, which is always what we’re hoping to see.
The Most Expensive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles MTG Cards
With the sheer number and variety of art treatments in this set it’s no surprise that this list is full of alternate art treatments and special foils in addition to the TMNT chase cards. The overall value of the set seems to be fairly good thanks to the amazing art and the respectable power level of the cards. Let’s get into the list.
#10 Casey Jones, Vigilante (0296) (Showcase) (Fracture Foil)
Casey Jones, Vigilante
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mythic

First up we have one of the human heroes of TMNT, Casey Jones, Vigilante, sitting at $147 at the time of writing. This is the spot that’s the most hotly contended, but we have faith in our masked warrior. This card shows Casey in his signature hockey mask fighting off Foot soldiers, and given that the three-mana card lets you draw three cards as it enters it’s easy to see the appeal.
#9 April O’Neil, Hacktivist (0292) (Showcase) (Fracture Foil)
April O’Neil, Hacktivist
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mythic

Our next card is the showcase variant of April O’Neil, Hacktivist, a four-mana creature which lets you draw more cards. People love drawing more cards in Magic, so it’s no surprise that the card is doing well. The showcase variant shows April in her tech den surrounded by glowing screens, and is currently fetching an impressive $153 at the time of writing. Not bad at all for a reporter.
#8 Donatello, Gadget Master (Showcase) (Fracture Foil)
Donatello, Gadget Master
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mythic

Anyone who’s a fan of Power Rangers and mecha in general will adore this art of Donatello, Gadget Master in a massive suit of armor. There’s something compelling about the idea of riding around in a giant robot version of yourself. It’s compelling enough to demand a $187 price point, at least. The card itself lets you copy your artifacts which is a very good effect across multiple formats.
#7 Leonardo, Cutting Edge (Showcase) (Fracture Foil)
Leonardo, Cutting Edge
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mythic

Leonardo, Cutting Edge has one of the most intriguing art styles in the set with Leo depicted as almost Henshin-style hero. The dude almost looks like a mech suit on the artwork here, but he is the leader of the turtles so maybe that’s fitting. This card gets stronger as you gain life, which is an effect that always does well. This particular version is currently sitting at an impressive $230.
#6 Raphael, the Nightwatcher (Showcase) (Fracture Foil)
Raphael, the Nightwatcher
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mythic

Raphael, the Nightwatcher’s a powerhouse, and this art shows him marching forwards with a smirk on his face. The current price for this one is sitting at $240 largely thanks to Raphael’s popularity as a character. That said, this card is still an excellent competitive pick. It has a sneak cost of three mana and gives all of your attacking creatures double strike. Who needs complexity when you’re doubling your damage?
#5 Dark Leo & Shredder (Showcase) (Fracture Foil)
Dark Leo & Shredder
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mythic

Dark Leo & Shredder features the evil version of Leonardo looking disconcertingly adorable in front of an equally chibi Shredder in the background. This showcase card is one that’s easy to see the appeal off, and given that it also gives all of your ninjas deathtouch and can turn five of them into a player losing half of their life, it’s also a banger in terms of gameplay. Not bad at all, although $258 is pretty steep.
#4 Krang, Utrom Warlord (Showcase)
Krang, Utrom Warlord
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mythic

While we do get good artifact Commanders fairly often it’s a little rarer to see them actually sticking to colorless. Krang, Utrom Warlord’s is a nine-mana 9/9 that grants flying, trample, indestructible, and haste to your artifact creatures. It’s also right at home alongside cards like Blightsteel Colossus if you’re going all-in on massive artifact creatures. That said, Blightsteel might not be worth $269 right now.
#3 Michelangelo, Weirdness to 11 (Showcase) (Fracture Foil)
Michelangelo, Weirdness to 11
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mythic

As the title holder of the cutest cards in the set it’s nice to see Michelangelo, Weirdness to 11 hanging out near the top of the list. This two-mana +1/+1 counter masterpiece is getting a lot of attention in general thanks to its mechanical strength, but with the chibi-style art it’s not a shock to see this one doing so well in terms of price too. Who knew pizza ramen could fetch up to $286?
#2 Super Shredder (Showcase) (Fracture Foil)
Super Shredder
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mythic

Super Shredder’s one of the best new Commanders from the set and the second-most expensive on this list. This art shows the big bad of TMNT being a little more reigned in than usual, but no less menacing. Pun-intended since Super Shredder also has menace. If you manage to pull this one and you’re a mono-black fan then it might just be worth keeping. That is, unless you’re looking for a $348 boost to your funds.
#1 Donatello, Mutant Mechanic
Donatello, Mutant Mechanic
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mythic

Donatello, Mutant Mechanic’s the most expensive card from the set right now, but of course we’re exclusively talking about the Gold-Stamped Signature variant. Don and Michelangelo, Improviser are currently ruling the roost, with the nerdy one being the most expensive at a staggering market price of $3,000. Given how pretty the artwork is and its significance as brand-new art from Eastman himself is, it’s not a huge shock to see this as the most luxurious of luxury cards from the new Universes Beyond set.
