The best Commander cards from Edge of Eternities come in all sorts of colors, and there are plenty of good options out there. There are a lot of interesting Commanders, but we’re focusing on the cards you can actually put in the ninety-nine of the deck for this particular article, so let’s jump into it.
#11 Weftwalking
Weftwalking
Edge of Eternities, Mythic

We’re kicking things off with a card that’s great for Commander, not because it’s really powerful, but because it’s just perfect for the format. Weftwalking is a blue enchantment that lets you shuffle your hand and graveyard into your library as it enters, and then draw a fresh seven cards. If drawing cards wasn’t enough of a sell, Weftwalking makes it so the first spell every player casts during their turn is cast without paying mana. Everyone else will benefit from this first, but this is Commander we’re talking about, so this could end up working in your favor!
#10 Thrumming Hivepool
Thrumming Hivepool
Edge of Eternities, Rare

Thrumming Hivepool is a six-mana artifact that comes with Affinity for Slivers, meaning it can cost nothing if you have enough Slivers in play. The card also gives your Slivers double strike and haste while also creating two 1/1 Sliver tokens during your upkeep. This is a must-have for any Sliver player, and while all of you are a little bit evil playing with Sliver Overlord, we’re happy that you’re happy.
#9 Tezzeret, Cruel Captain
Tezzeret, Cruel Captain
Edge of Eternities, Mythic

Tezzeret, Cruel Captain is a must-have for any Artifact strategy in Commander, as it’s a three mana Planeswalker that comes in with four loyalty, but gains another loyalty counter whenever an artifact you control enters play, making it very difficult for the opponent to remove Tezzeret with combat damage. The abilities let you untap an artifact or creature and potentially put a +1/+1 counter on it, search your library for an artifact card with mana value of one or less (such as Sol Ring, Skullclamp or Voltaic Key) and put it into your hand, or create an emblem that helps you turn artifacts into Robot creatures or throw +1/+1 counters on an artifact. This is all really solid, but we have a feeling the tutoring is the best ability here (like with Tezzeret the Seeker). Being able to find one of your best artifacts (with a mana value of one) can be very powerful if you land this card early.
#8 The Eternity Elevator
The Eternity Elevator
Edge of Eternities, Rare

The Eternity Elevator is an incredible mana rock for Colorless Commander strategies. This is a five-mana Spacecraft that you can tap for three colorless mana straight away, but once you’ve got 20 or more charge counters on it (thanks to Station), you can tap it to gain mana equal to the number of counters on it in any one color of your choice. This is going to be good in most decks, but you can actually have it as your Commander thanks to the recent rule changes.
#7 Singularity Rupture
Singularity Rupture
Edge of Eternities, Rare

Singularity Rupture is an exciting addition for Mill decks, where you can destroy all creatures for six mana. There’s obviously more going on than that, as the Rupture enables you to target any number of players and have them mill half their library rounded down. This is incredible with Commanders such as Phenax, God of Deception or Captain N’ghathrod, as it enables you to speedrun some milling, given the challenges of milling out a bunch of 100-card decks. You can also target yourself with the milling, which might be relevant if you want to recur a huge threat with Reanimate or similar.
#6 Chorale of the Void
Chorale of the Void
Edge of Eternities, Rare

Chorale of the Void (not to be confused with Chalice of the Void) is a four-mana black aura with the ability to yoink a creature from an opposing graveyard under your control, where the yoinked creature enters play tapped and attacking the defending player whenever you attack with the enchanted creature. As Chorale of the Void is an attack trigger, it leans well into more aggressive Commander strategies such as Zurgo Stormrender, who can definitely meet the Void costs to keep the aura around across multiple turns. Also, you don’t lose the stolen creature(s) as Chorale of the Void leaves play, meaning it’s decent as a one-time trigger.
#5 Umbral Collar Zealot
Umbral Collar Zealot
Edge of Eternities, Uncommon

Umbral Collar Zealot is an absolute powerhouse of a card, and is already seeing plenty of attention in Constructed formats. This Human Cleric gives you a free sacrifice outlet, throwing away another creature or artifact to surveil a card. Surveil is better than scry in most situations, and unlike Viscera Seer, which is the closest point of comparison here, this card also lets you dig to those win conditions easier while leveraging the graveyard if needed. A must-have for Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER Commander decks.
#4 Loading Zone
Loading Zone
Edge of Eternities, Rare

Loading Zone is one of the many effects that doubles up counters on a creature, but this one extends to Spacecraft and Planet cards also. Historically, these are strong effects, but Loading Zone has the upside of Warp for a mana, meaning you can have a burst of counter generation to get things going. Just being able to pay one mana to access this ability for a turn is incredibly strong, and one that Tidus, Yuna’s Guardian will certainly be interested in.
#3 Icetill Explorer
Icetill Explorer
Edge of Eternities, Rare

Icetill Explorer is perhaps the most-hyped card from Edge of Eternities for Commander, as it’s a Crucible of Worlds with a bunch of other relevant text. The Explorer lets you play an additional land each turn, and whenever a land enters under your control, you mill a card. Essentially, this is three cards wrapped into one Bug-like creature, and the artwork is just incredible. It does everything most Landfall players could want, which means it’s a must-have for these decks.
#2 Exalted Sunborn
Exalted Sunborn
Edge of Eternities, Mythic

Exalted Sunborn is another effect that encourages doubling any kind of token you would create. You can also pay two mana to Warp this in early, reap some early benefits, and then cast it from exile at a later stage. We’re a little surprised to see this in a set so soon after Elspeth, Storm Slayer from Tarkir: Dragonstorm, but we’re assuming that token players around the world will be thrilled with the addition. This card’s also an Angel, making it an excellent fit for Angel-themed Commander decks.
#1 The Planet Lands
Uthros, Titanic Godcore
Edge of Eternities, Mythic

The Planet cards are a new cycle of lands that all come in tapped and can tap for one mana of their respected colors. They also all have Station, and gain a new ability when they have 12 or more charge counters. Adagia, Windswept Bastion is the white option, where you can activate it to create a token of an artifact or enchantment you control (but the copy is legendary). Kavaron, Memorial World is the red one, and you can sacrifice a land as part of the activation to create a 2/2 Robot token, but then give your creatures +1/+0 and haste for a turn. These two are the weakest of the bunch, in our opinion.

Market Price: $19.35
Susur Secundi, Void Altar is the black one, where you can sacrifice a creature to draw cards equal ot that creature’s power once you’ve met the Station cost. While it takes a little while to get going, it’s going to perform well in Sacrifice (or Aristocrats) Commander decks. Uthros, Titanic Godcore is the blue option, letting you add blue mana equal to the number of artifacts you control (hello, Tolarian Academy), and Evendo, Waking Haven is the green Planet card, and does the same but with green mana and creatures (like Gaea’s Cradle). These Planet cards are decent enough, and will likely outlast the other cards on this list.
